Often the smaller dollar or more creative resolutions reached derive their greatest significance from their importance to the client.   Mr. Rosenfeld has obtained a settlement in excess of policy limits for a widow whose husband’s life insurance lapsed under circumstances in which the insurance carrier arguably was negligent.  Mr. Rosenfeld has engineered the release of children back to their families after they have been improperly taken by social workers.  Mr. Rosenfeld has negotiated for appropriate services from school districts.  Mr. Rosenfeld has assisted a large homeowners association membership in removing from office a group of people who were abusing the association’s money and neglecting needed maintenance.

Some successes are significant for their monetary value. Mr. Rosenfeld has pursued litigation on behalf of a Fortune 500 company. Mr. Rosenfeld has obtained a $5,000,000.00 jury verdict on behalf of a minority film producer whose work was stolen and sabotaged by a dishonest financier.  Mr. Rosenfeld has settled several construction defect cases, one for 30% more than the client’s had paid for the house.  Mr. Rosenfeld has prevailed in a binding arbitration in which his client had been cheated in the sale of its assets.  Mr. Rosenfeld’s client recovered $3,000,000.00.  Mr. Rosenfeld obtained and collected a jury verdict of $160,000.00 for a woman who was forced to defend herself against her ex-husband’s false accusations of kidnapping their children.  In the malicious prosecution verdict, the jury awarded the $10,000.00 the client had spent defending herself in criminal court, plus $100,000.00 in emotional distress damages, and $50,000.00 in punitive damages.

Mr. Rosenfeld has also defended clients.   Mr. Rosenfeld obtained a voluntary dismissal of a case in which his client was accused of making terrorist threats.  The matter was dismissed when Mr. Rosenfeld proved who the actual culprit was.  Mr. Rosenfeld has defended clients accused of bankruptcy fraud, tax assessments, assault and other acts.

Mr. Rosenfeld has also had considerable success in the courts of appeal.   Mr. Rosenfeld has obtained the reversal, by the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal of a dismissal of a tax refund claim by the Federal District Court.  Mr. Rosenfeld has also prevailed in several state court appeals, including one that resulted in a seven-figure settlement.
